photographs everyday sediments, marks left behind, and things built up unintentionally. She is interested in images and collections of images that collapse or collect time—palimpsestic build-up of temporal layers on surfaces or the hazy shape of a swaying tree. Her work brings forward poetic relationships between subjects. Nuances, details, and surprises of using film inform her practice and aesthetic.

Helen Jones holds a BFA in Photography from the Massachusetts College of Art. She arrived in Texas by way of Vermont and Oregon. During her time in the latter, she founded Pine Island Press which specializes in publishing art and photography zines.
